Drilling without contact

Due to the constantly improving filling materials and by consequent prophylaxis measures a cavity preparation (the classic "hole drilling", according to the old rules) belongs to the past.

Nowadays, the minimally invasive dentistry is the order of the hour, i.e. the filling expansion is determined by the carious defect, uninjured or healthy parts of the tooth remain preserved and untouched. Due to kinetic cavity preparation (a kind of sand emitter for the oral cavity) this can be achieved very easily today.

Advantages of the treatment

  • The treatment is absolutely painless in many cases and can be carried out without anesthesia
  • Only the components of the tooth which are irreversibly damaged are removed
  • The time requirement is comparable to the conventional treatment with syringe
  • Substantially reduced pain, unpleasant noises are avoided

During the kinetic cavity preparation, a minimally non-traumatic (considerate to the tissue) opening through the hard tooth substance is created in order to reach the cavity defect, followed by the removal of the irreversibly damaged dentin.

The combination of plastic composite, adhesive (special glue for filling materials), enamel and dentin is much improved with selective etching according to the newest studies and more lasting than the treatment with rotary instruments (drill) and Total Etch Technology (dentin and enamel of the tooth are etched).
